Galvalume finish corrugated metal is one of the most corrosion resistant corrugated materials offered in the architectural roofing and siding panel market. Painted metal roof panels typically begin with galvalume and are then primed and painted but galvalume alone looks amazing from many angles it will look nearly white in other angles more of a gray finish. Due to the longevity of a standing seam roof you should only consider a kynar 500 paint finish to ensure you paint lasts as long as your material. Zinc coated metal exhibits two types of finishes.

A small amount if silicon is also introduced to the coating to ensure an even and durable adhesion. Unlike normal galvanizing this metal material is an actual combination of aluminum and zinc to provide excellent protection. Thermobond provides texture and multi hued colors. The addition of aluminum to the zinc coating differentiates galvalume from traditional galvanized treatments. Not as shiny as galvanized. A standing seam panel is best used with aluminum or 24 gauge galvalume and provides the most maintenance free metal roof system available.

Often used to resemble classic aged metal our bonderized and galvalume finishes have a natural real feel that create beautiful contrast agains wood siding or glossy painted surfaces. And hot dip galvanized steel which has a rough and dull finish. Galvalume is a long lasting zinc aluminum alloy spangle that offers superior corrosion resistance. These coatings with extra layers of pvdf include more of the fluorite based resin for extra protection of the pigmentation.

Classic metal roofing systems offers a proprietary powder pvdf called thermobond which is applied and baked on top of the standard pvdf finish. Galvanizing the metal provides an additional barrier against the elements and produces a white film over the metal from zinc oxidation.
